About Regency Prescriptions
The Founding of Regency Prescriptions
Two prominent Vancouver pharmacists founded Regency Prescriptions in 1970. A group of physicians were opening a clinic on Seymour Street and asked the pair to open a pharmacy in the lobby of the medical building.
With Seven More to Follow
Word quickly spread, and a total of eight pharmacies were opened in the British Columbia Lower Mainland under the Regency Prescriptions name. The pharmacies were on the cutting edge of co-operative medicine, featuring an internal communication system with the physicians. Regency Prescriptions also was one of the first groups of pharmacies to utilize a connected computer system for prescription-filling and patient files.
Long-Time Managers
The owners separated their partnership in 1992, and the remaining four stores were each purchased by the long-serving pharmacy managers. Judy Sharp, Peter Cook and Ron Gracan each own and operate their own Regency Pharmacy and have served

Association with Medicine Centre
A few years after purchasing the stores, the managers embraced the Medicine Centre banner but continued to retain the Regency name. This strategy has proven to be a very successful investment as we associate with some 55 like-minded independent pharmacists for the advertising and provision of pharmacy services.
Focus on Personalized Service
The success of Regency is largely due to the focus on the individual patient. The pharmacists and staff provide a very confidential and personal environment for patient consultation and services. With their convenient locations and home delivery service, the pharmacies continue to be successful today.
